A database collection comprises the data from a relational database. Funnelback uses an SQL query to obtain data from the database -- each row is saved as an XML file. Thus, each row is treated as a separate document.
The database collection is defined by the following properties:
- The Java database driver;
- The URL to the database;
- The SQL query to select the rows;
- The primary key column in the SQL query; and
- The user name and password for the database.
When a database collection is created a simple XSL transform is created to display the rows as a HTML table. For more details and caveats, see the XML and XSL section of the Cache Controller documentation.
